NEW MODERATOR OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND APPOINTED.

NEW MODERATOR OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND APPOINTED is The Reverend William Hewitt.
Born in Kilmarnock in 1951 he attended Kilmarnock Academy before moving to Glasgow University to study divinity.
He is married with three children and a great lover of Robert Burns. As a Robert Burns enthusiast what better time than now to be appointed the new moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland than just before the Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations which celebrates the 250th year of the birth of Robert Burns.
